YOU Promoting YOU-How to make your presence known

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Your web site should be as unique as you are!

When you are pitching your business you are selling yourself as much as the business maybe even more so. Obviously the business does make a difference or does it?

When a big leader in a company changes his focus and moves to another company and his down line follows him are they following the person or the business?

They are following the person, they believe in the person and what they are doing. They assume that the business is a good idea because the leader believes in it and they believe in the person.

So how do you get people to know you on the Internet?

Your own web site and blog.
Pictures - Stories - Audio’s - Movies

Are you more likely to do something with someone you know or a stranger?

There are hundreds of thousands of web sites on the Internet but there is only ONE YOU! Trying to get the top rankings is tough. Do you think if you told someone to google your name and there were thousands of hits leading to your web site they might take you more seriously? You bet they would!

Tell people who you are and what you are doing. Get your name and your web site out there.

Which scenario would you prefer?

Scenario #1
You build a huge business in XYZ company and something happens to the business and you loose that income from that business. You also loose all of the traffic and rankings that went with your web site. You find another company and you build it all over again.
Scenario #2
YOU promote YOU
You have a web site and you steadily build traffic to it. The company that you tell people about after they get know you goes south. You find a new company and want to build it. Do start all over again ? NO WAY You already have traffic to your site and you are still you right? So you make some changes to the site adding information about the new company and off you go building your new company.

I have been working with Internet Marketers and Network Marketers for years and the one consistent thing I have seen over and over is that once you start down the Internet marketing road you are always with it. It gets into your blood. You may change what you are doing but you are always looking and doing something and even with the pitfalls that the Internet has you will always need a web site.

Many people have multiple interests and belong to multiple companies. YOU promoting YOU still makes sense. Your own web site acts as a focal point for all of your businesses. It also gives you back links to your other sites.

Web site domains are cheap and hosting is inexpensive also. Once the initial site is built the cost to maintain it are also minimal.

So Do yourself a favor and start to promote yourself. It is the best asset you have.

Key Features of a Good Autoresponder

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Autoresponder’s come in many shapes and sizes. There are a multitude of bells & whistles that are available. Many of which sound great ,most of which will not be utilized.
There are 5 main features that a good Autoresponder will have:

Ability to import your own leads
Tracking of messages
Merge Codes
Decent deliverability
Sending of HTML or Text messages

Importing your own leads

Many Autoresponder’s that are available will only allow the leads that they sell to be imported into the Autoresponder. These typically are overpriced leads. This allows the Autoresponder owner to control the quality of the leads being imported and also allows for them to have a higher profit margin. They are making a much higher profit on the leads than they are on the Autoresponder.

Tracking your messages

In any kind of marketing you must know what is working and what is not. If you do not have some sort of tracking on each message How will you know the difference? There are two basic methods of tracking. The open rate of each message and the click thru rate.

Open Rate
One of the easiest ways of tracking when a person opens a letter is by using html in the message and including a small graphic in the letter. If the letter stays open long enough in the person’s mail client then your server will log the download on the graphic. Then you can manually count how many times that graphic has been downloaded. With many mail clients automatically blocking html this has become a less reliable as it was in the past.
Click Thru
A great feature to have in your Autoresponder is a redirect link. When a person clicks on a link in your message they are redirected to your web page and the information that is recorded in your Autoresponder is automatically emailed to you. This way you not only know that someone clicked you also know exactly who clicked. There are several other ways to track your message if your Autoresponder has all of the other features and lacks this one.
Merge Codes
Merge codes are pieces of code that are placed in your messages and when the message is being assembled the actual data is merged into the message in place of the4 merge code. This allows for a completely personal message going out to hundreds or thousands of customers.
Decent Deliverability
This is a tough one and it is not easily determined what the deliverability is without actually trying the autoresponder. Many Autoresponder’s have a free trial and I suggest you take advantage of the trial period so that you can check the deliverability yourself. One of the best ways to do this is to have multiple accounts. If you are serious about using an Autoresponder you should have at least one email account in all of the free email services. Once you have this you can send messages to all of your own accounts and see if they get there and where they end up. Spam Box or Inbox.
Sending of HTML or Text
There has always been an ongoing debate of which one is best. I enjoy a good html message but many email clients will block some or all of the things that make an html message better. Text messages definitely have better deliverability but many people will not read them just because there are few ways to catch there attention with plain text. When HTML is used and used correctly it is by far the better attention getter. If you know everything about HTML for building a web page then you will need to learn even more about how to use that knowledge when making an email message. Many of the rules change and there are a lot of new ones that you must be aware of if you want people to actually view your message.

I have personally tried many Autoresponder’s and there are 3 that I still use today. For a list of the Autoresponder’s that I use and also have the key features of a good Autoresponder , Go to:

eMarketing-Buy Leads or Generate your own?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Most people in Home Based Business will start out working there new business by talking with there warm market. I have seen a lot written on whether this is the best way to approach it or NOT. After all, you are talking to people that probably have the most influence over your thinking. If these people do not receive the business with the same enthusiasm as you do then they can take the wind out of your sails immediately.

Would it possibly be better to purchase some lower priced leads to work and maybe thicken your skin a bit. Anyone in Network Marketing will tell you:

IT IS ALWAYS A NUMBER GAME !

So hone your skills on leads that you do not have a personal involvement with. Start out with lower price leads and work your way up when your skills warrant the higher price. Let’s face it the more work that your Lead Provider does to qualify the lead the less you have to do and you will pay for it in the price of the lead. And this is only fair if more of the work is being done for you.

Leads are a good solution to working your business. But there a lot of ways to generate your own.

There are many ways to promote your business. Leads are a quick solution and the suggestions above are a more long term solution but if you are serious about your Home Based Business then your are in it for the long term right ?

The best way to start is to register a domain of your own even if you don’t know a thing about building a web site. You do not have to know everything right now but you do have to start somewhere.

What is an Autoresponder?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

An Autoresponder is an Automated Internet Marketing tool.Like any other tool you will need to learn how it operates to take full advantage of its capabilities.

An Autoresponder sends programmed messages at specified intervals of time to recipients that are loaded into it.

The Autoresponder consists of 2 basic elements.

The messages that you compose
The list of intended recipients

Sounds simple Right?

The basic operation of an Autoresponder remains as simple as it ever was but there are many other factors that now affect the success of its use. There are a multitude of new elements to consider when using an Autoresponder.

Since using Autoresponder to send email has become popular so has the abuse of it. There are huge amounts of SPAM sent everyday and your messages get mixed in with all of it. So this makes you even more responsible for getting your message noticed.

The deliverability of your message will depend on several factors as outlined below:

HTML vs Text
Message Content/SPAM Filters
Number of messages sent per hour
Black Listing

The 2nd part of an Autoresponder is the prospect list. There are many list providers on the Internet. Some good and some not so good. Prices range from 2 cents to 40 cents per lead. It can be difficult to find a reliable source for your leads. You can ask around for referrals to lead providers that your friends or Upline have used. If that is not an option then look at some of the following factors:

How long has the company been around on the Internet?
What kind of Guarantees do they offer ?
Is their pricing competitive ?
What is their Google Page Rank ?

The bottom line is that you will need to do some testing to ultimately find out what works. It may take a few tries to find the right source for your leads.

Article Marketing for Effective Link Building

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Two factors affect your search engine ranking with Search Engines:

1.The relevancy of your content to any given search
2.The number of incoming links to your site and not just any link but links that are relative to your site content.

Most search engines look at relative links a positive vote for your site.In other words id 100 other sites are lining to yours then you must have a valuable site because all these other sites would not be linked to you otherwise.

You can accomplish effective link building by any of the following methods:
1. Try to get other relative sites to reciprocal link with you which might involve sending out numerous emails to other web site owners requesting a link exchange. (Sometimes perceived as spamming)
2. Hire a link-building company to find and setup quality links to your site. This is very effective but can be very costly.

So what can you possibly do to build up your links?

Article Marketing to the rescue.

You can write articles and submit them to other sites for free. At the end of the article you have a resource box with all of your information and you guessed it a link to your web site.

With Article Marketing you can accomplish several things:
1.Establish yourself as an expert
2.Generate Leads
3.Increase your site traffic
4.Improve your search engine rank

Whatever you area of expertise is you can write an article about it and if it is written well it will gain valuable incoming links to your site.

Article Writing Tips

Remember that you are trying to do 2 things. You are establishing yourself as an expert in your field. If your field is Multi Level Marketing just think what the value would be if you were an established expert. Secondly you are trying to provide valuable content to your readers. You are NOT trying to blatantly promote your product or service. Your web site is where you are doing that. Too much hype and you will not accomplish your purpose.

Do not include links in the body of your article. Many site will ban your article or at a minimum strip the links. The links to your web site are gained from the Resource box of your article.

What to include in your Resource Box

This area is where the link building takes place. However it is not the place for an actual ad. Keep it simple. Less is more. Believe me if the article you submit is of value people will post your article and you will get clicks to your site so people can find out more.

Include your name, business and a short description of your product or services. You can also include a call to action but keep it simple. And most important include a link to your web site.

Article MArketing can provide a great resource for people that do not have an expertise in web site building and html.

At BuyLeadsforLess we can submit your Article to over 360 article directories.
Each article can be submitted for only $44.95.
